Explanation
BACKGROUND
To authorize the Director of Finance and Management to enter into a contract with Ace Truck Body, Inc. for the purchase of one (1) Welders Truck Body with Crane. BT 23773 is the slated to be turned in for a new Ford F450 Chassis once up fit is complete. The purchase and installation of the utility body will enable the Division of Water make welding repairs at DPU tanks and stations as well as haul a large mobile generator to those sites for emergency outages.
PROCUREMENT
The Purchasing Office advertised and solicited competitive bids in accordance with the relevant provisions of City Code Chapter 329 relating to competitive bidding (RFQ028660). Thirty (32) vendors (28 Majority, 2 MBE, 2 EBE) were solicited and one (1) Majority bid was received and opened on October 2, 2024.
After evaluation of the bid, the Division of Water has determined the bid from Ace Truck Body, Inc. meets all requirements of the specification and is recommended for award as the only bidder.

The certification of Ace Truck Body, Inc. was in good standing at the time of the contract award. EMERGENCY DESIGNATION: The Department of Public Utilities respectfully requests this legislation be considered emergency to guarantee a production build spot with Vendor.
