To Recognize and Celebrate Sam Schuler for her Dedication to Housing Advocacy, Equity, and Justice

WHEREAS, Sam Schuler has dedicated her career to housing advocacy, equity, and justice, serving as a transformative leader in the Columbus community and beyond, ensuring that all residents, especially the most vulnerable, have access to safe, stable, and affordable housing; and
WHEREAS, as CEO of the Community Housing Network, Sam Schuler has overseen the development and management of hundreds of permanent supportive housing units, providing critical services to individuals and families experiencing homelessness, mental illness, and other barriers to stable housing; and
WHEREAS, under her leadership, the Community Housing Network has expanded its impact by fostering partnerships with local government, nonprofit organizations, and community stakeholders, advancing innovative housing solutions that promote long-term stability and self-sufficiency for residents in Columbus; and
WHEREAS, Sam Schuler’s unwavering commitment to housing justice has contributed to policy advancements and funding initiatives that have strengthened the city’s response to housing insecurity, reinforcing Columbus as a leader in equitable housing solutions; and
WHEREAS, her work has been instrumental in not only providing housing but also in ensuring wraparound services and support systems that empower individuals to thrive, reaffirming the fundamental belief that housing is a human right; and
WHEREAS, the City of Columbus expresses its deepest gratitude for Sam Schuler’s invaluable contributions at the Community Housing Network and is confident that her next steps in housing advocacy will continue to serve and uplift the region, furthering the mission of creating a more just and equitable community for all; now, therefore
