Explanation
Background:
This ordinance authorizes the Director of the Recreation and Parks Department to enter into summer youth programming grant agreements with the following registered 501c3 nonprofit organizations for the listed amount. The total combined amount distributed to the 59 listed organizations shall be $3,450,579.00.
These grant awards will be used to expand quality summer programming for youth residing within the City of Columbus geographical boundaries. Funding will support local, registered 501c3 non-profit organizations in providing programming that will fulfill one or more of the following outcomes: improving academic performance and health and well-being; enhancing career readiness and workplace skills; and promoting the understanding and use of non-violent conflict resolution skills. The term of these grant agreements will begin on May 1, 2025, and will end on October 31, 2025. All grants shall be paid to awardees in advance.
