In memory of Myrna Harriet Moore Beatty

Columbus City Council extends sincere condolences to the family and friends of the late Myrna Harriet Moore Beatty on this sorrowful occasion of her passing.
Mrs. Beatty gave so much to so many. She will be remembered for being a charter member of numerous organizations; traveling with her mother, Mayme Moore, across the United States fighting for racial equality; working with young girls; and, playing tournament bridge across the country with her husband, Otto, Sr. One of her proudest moments, was the dedication of the Mayme Moore Park and the Beatty Pavilion at the Martin Luther King Complex.
Mrs. Beatty made it clear that she loved her family and adored her loving son more than words can express. Her belief in God was unwavering and her giving to church and community was selfless. Myrna will always be known for her saying
."I'm Vertical." She will be remembered for her energy, enthusiasm, kindnesses and good deeds.
Myrna Harriet Moore Beatty left an indelible impression on the people whose lives she touched and she will be sorely missed.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
That this Council does hereby pay tribute to the memory of a truly honorable woman.
