To honor and recognize Mr. Larry Sowers for his tireless devotion to the ideals of organized labor and his dedication to protect the interests of working families.

Whereas, Larry Sowers has served as President and Political Director of Carpenters Local 200 for the past 26 years; and
Whereas, Larry Sowers has dedicated himself to serving all members of Carpenters Local 200 and the citizens of Columbus; and
Whereas, Larry Sowers has fought tirelessly at the local, state, and national levels to champion the rights of working men and women; and
Whereas, Larry Sowers' ability to work cooperatively with business leaders, political leaders, and organized labor leaders has benefited all, especially working families; and
Whereas, the members of Carpenters Local 200 shall name their meeting hall located at 1545 Alum Creek Drive, Columbus, Ohio, the Larry Sowers Meeting Hall: now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
That this Council does hereby honor and commend Larry Sowers for his tireless devotion to the ideals of organized labor and his dedication to protect the interests of working families.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Council does hereby recognize the meeting hall for Carpenters Local 200 shall henceforth be known as the Larry Sowers Meeting Hall and that a copy of this Resolution be presented to Larry Sowers with our respect and admiration on December 14, 2007.
