To recognize Bishop Fred and Mollie Marshall on their 32nd anniversary at Smyrna Missionary Baptist Church.

WHEREAS, in 1976, Bishop Fred Marshall became the organizer, builder and Pastor of Smyrna Missionary Baptist Church, along with his wife, First Lady Mollie Marshall; and
 
WHEREAS, in addition to his service at Smyrna Missionary Baptist Church, Bishop Marshall serves as the Presiding Bishop of Free Gospel Churches of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ headquarters in Lawton Oklahoma as well as at The Good N.E.W.S. Holy Convocation; and
 
WHEREAS, Bishop Marshall continues to serve his community and faith as the President of the Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance, as well as sitting on the boards of the Youth Advocate Services Board of Directors and the Franklin County Criminal Justice Board; and
 
WHEREAS, through his longstanding dedication to social service, Bishop Marshall has served on the Board of Directors for the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, the Board of Directors of MORPC, the Columbus Police Community Advisory Board, in addition to serving as a member of the Columbus Public Safety Department's "God Squad"; and
 
WHEREAS, prior to his leadership of the Smyrna Missionary Baptist Church, Bishop Marshall aided the rehabilitation of area youth as an employee of the State of Ohio Department of Corrections, Ohio Youth Commission; and
 
WHEREAS, Bishop Fred and Mollie Marshall have ministered to the spiritual needs of the Columbus Community and dedicated their lives to the service of the Lord and their church community; now, therefore
 
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
That this Council does hereby recognize Bishop Fred and Mollie Marshall on their 32nd anniversary at Smyrna Missionary Baptist Church.
