To congratulate Antonio Goodwin for achieving the rank of Eagle Scout.
Body
WHEREAS, raised in a single parent home by his mother Garnet Goodwin, Antonio relied on the Boy Scouts to give him the guidance he needed to grow into a strong, responsible man of good character, and
WHEREAS, Antonio is involved with the Scouts through the Scoutreach Program. Scoutreach reflects the diversity of the urban and rural neighborhoods and communities that it serves and uses that strength to enhance and enrich the scouting experience, and
WHEREAS, for every 100 scouts who enter the Boy Scout program, only two will attain the highest achievement of Eagle Scout. East High School senior Antonio Goodwin is now one of those honorable young men achieving his Eagle Scout rank, and
WHEREAS, for his Eagle project, Antonio built a supply cabinet for Volunteers of America Greater Ohio's after school program, and
WHEREAS, in addition to his work on his Eagle project, Antonio will be working as a member of the staff at Boy Scout Camp, Falling Rock, this summer. He will be attending Shawnee State University in the fall specializing in business management; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
That this Council does congratulate Antonio Goodwin for achieving the rank of Eagle Scout and does commend him for the incredible contributions he has made the Columbus community.
