To congratulate Amy Klaben of the Community Housing Partnership for graduating from the NeighborWorks Achieving Excellence in Community Development program at Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government.

WHEREAS, as the President and CEO of the Community Housing Partnership, Amy Klaben has continually demonstrated her commitment to provide quality, affordable housing and related services to low to moderate income households in Columbus and the surrounding area; and
 
WHEREAS, as part of her continual effort to improve the Columbus Community, Amy participated in a highly selective program for nonprofit executives offered by NeighborWorks America through the Harvard University Kennedy School of Government; and
 
WHEREAS, since the inception of the program in 2002, Klaben and her fellow graduates have achieved astounding results including generating new income for their organizations from fees for services, raising an additional $6.7 million in new income from grants and loans, and developing more than 2,400 new affordable rental units; and
 
WHEREAS, Amy's successful completion of the program is a testament to her exceptional skills.  Through the program, Amy addressed one of the most critical challenges that faced her organization, and identified solutions that not only dramatically changed how her organization does business, but also helped foster lasting community change; now, therefore,
 
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
That we do hereby congratulate Amy Klaben for graduating from the NeighborWorks Achieving Excellence in Community Development program and thank her for her outstanding leadership as President and CEO of the Community Housing Partnership organization.
