To Celebrate and Congratulate Jane Scott on Her Retirement

WHEREAS, Starting in 2003, Jane Scott organized high-quality programming and maintained the integrity of one of the most highly visible nonprofits in Columbus, the Columbus Metropolitan Club (CMC), as its CEO; and
WHEREAS, under Jane Scott’s leadership, the CMC has held hundreds of public forums spotlighting leaders from Columbus and around the world, highlighting issues of critical importance to Central Ohio through the CMC's trademark "community conversations;" and
WHEREAS, the membership of the CMC has grown from 600 to 1400 people during Scott’s tenure as CEO; and
WHEREAS, Scott’s decision to move CMC forums online during the COVID-19 pandemic resulted in a significant increase in forum attendance in the past three years; and
WHEREAS, after nearly two decades with the Columbus Metropolitan Club, Jane Scott will be retiring in May of 2023; and
WHEREAS, this Council wishes Jane all the best in retirement; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS: That this Council celebrates Jane Scott and congratulates her on her retirement after nineteen years with the Columbus Metropolitan Club
