Explanation
BACKGROUND: This legislation authorizes an amendment to Ordinance No. 1382-2023, due to an incorrect organization name listed in the ordinance.
One of the vendor names listed in the attachment “Exhibit A” to Ordinance No. 1382-2023 was “The Links Incorporated (on behalf of the Twin Rivers (OH) Chapter of the Links Incorporated),” but should be “Links Incorporated Twin Rivers OH Chapter.” The legislation must be amended to allow execution of a valid agreement with the organization.
Exhibit A is attached to this ordinance and has been updated to reflect this amendment.
Emergency action is requested as it is immediately necessary to appropriate funds for necessary expenditures beginning early this summer.
FISCAL IMPACT: No additional funding is required. Funds for this agreement have been appropriated within the Neighborhood Initiatives subfund.

To amend Ordinance No. 1382-2023, passed May 15, 2023, to correct an organization name listed in an attachment to the Ordinance; and to declare an emergency.
Body
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 1382-2023, passed May 15, 2023, authorized the City Clerk to enter into a grant agreement with The Links Incorporated; and
WHEREAS, at the time of agreement execution, it was discovered that the organization name was incorrect in the ordinance; and
WHEREAS, the correct vendor name is Links Incorporated Twin Rivers OH Chapter, which is a non-profit organization in Columbus and the local chapter of The Links Incorporated; and
WHEREAS, an emergency exists in the usual daily operation of the City Clerk in that it is immediately necessary to authorize the to amend the ordinance so that the agreement can be executed in time for necessary expenditures beginning early this summer; NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
