The following resolution was approved at the March 19, 2024 Columbus Board of Health meeting.
To amend Section 227.02(I) of the Columbus City Health Code in regard to public pool or spa fees in accordance with the Ohio Revised Code and Ohio Administrative Code, law and rules.
WHEREAS, the staff of Columbus Public Health has traditionally provided licenses and conducted health and safety inspections for all public pools or spas within the City of Columbus; and,
WHEREAS, the staff of Columbus Public Health has completed the cost analysis calculations required by Ohio Revised Code §3709.09; and Ohio Administrative Code §3701-31-03; and,
WHEREAS, the staff of Columbus Public Health recommend the following public pool and spa license fees to recover current costs of the program; and,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF HEALTH OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
SECTION 1. That Section 227.02(I) of the Columbus City Health Code, Compliance and License Required, Fees, be amended to read as follows:
There is levied and assessed upon the owner or operator of each public swimming pool, spa or special use pool an annual fee equivalent to the amount which is required to be transmitted to the State of Ohio for each license issued, as per OAC §3701-31-03, plus the following license fee:

SECTION 2. That Section 1 of this resolution shall take effect and be in force April 1, 2024.
