To Celebrate Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church in Honor of its 65th Anniversary
Body
WHEREAS, Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church, located at 3161 East Fifth Avenue, was founded in 1959; and
WHEREAS, the church is led by Overseer Michael D. Reeves, Sr., a Columbus native who assumed the Pastorate of the Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church in October 1976, was pronounced an Elder in October of 2003, and was elevated to Overseer in July 2013; and
WHEREAS, Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church and the surrounding community has prospered with growth which includes the building of a new church facility, the creation of a Community Development Corporation, an increase in the size of the church’s ministerial staff, and ultimately the physical and spiritual growth of the members of the Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church; and
WHEREAS, the continued presence and growth of Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church has supported and enriched the community and created an invaluable cultural asset within the City of Columbus; and
WHEREAS, in 2024, Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church will celebrate 65 years of operation; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS: That this Council celebrates Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church in Honor of its 65th anniversary.
