Explanation

Background: The Purchasing Division solicited bids for one (1) skid steer loader unit with three (3) optional attachments. Five bids were received and opened by the Purchasing Division on November 15, 2007. Bids are as follows:

This ordinance will enable the Director of Finance and Management to purchase one (1) skid steer loader unit with three attachments in accordance with the terms and conditions of formal bid SA002698. The loader and equipment are used in the daily operations of the Forestry Tree Nursery. The loader is a replacement of similar type of equipment. The attachments consist of one (1) tree shovel, one (1) snow blade and one (1) loader boom and are all functional units that fit the New Holland Model L180 which is designed for specific tasks performed by Forestry Division personnel.
