Explanation

The City of Columbus Department of Public Safety, Division of Police on behalf of the Columbus Urban Area Homeland Security Advisory Committee was awarded a grant for the acquisition of personal protective equipment for the Division of Police. The total expenditure in the amount of $368,324.33 will be paid by Franklin County through the Urban Area Homeland Security Grant. The Intergovernmental Agreements permit the City of Columbus and Franklin County to make these federal sub-grant expenditures.

Bid Information: A formal bid, Solicitation No. SA002824 was opened on March 20, 2008. Seven vendors submitted bids for the personal protective equipment. Aramsco Inc. was the lowest bidder on items 1-12, 16, 17, and IE Monitoring Instruments, Inc. was the lowest bidder on items 13, 14, 15.

These companies are not debarred according to the Federal excluded parties listing or prohibited from being awarded a contract according to the Auditor of State unresolved findings for recovery certified search.

Emergency Designation: Emergency legislation is requested to expedite the process of the award from Franklin County Office of Homeland Security and Justice Programs.
