Explanation
BACKGROUND: This legislation authorizes the City Attorney to modify a contract with West Publishing Corporation dba Elite, A Thomson Reuters business, for a legal case/matter management software system and associated services. Ordinance 1509-12, authorized the original contract and funding up to $150,000.00. Ordinance 0958-2013 extended the term of the contract through August 15, 2013 and provided an additional $50,000.00 funding for the project bringing the total amount of available funding to $200,000.00.
Due to the complexity of the project further time and an adjustment of allocated services is needed to complete the project. This ordinance will authorize modifying the contract and extending the term through December 31, 2013 to allow adequate time to complete the project. No further funding is needed at this time.
EMERGENCY: There is an immediate need to modify the existing contract so the project can continue uninterrupted.
FISCAL IMPACT: No additional funds are needed at this time.
