Explanation
1. BACKGROUND:
This legislation authorizes the Director of Public Service to enter into a contract for the construction of the Roadway Improvements - Rich St - Town St Corridor Enhancement (Phase 2) project and to provide payment for construction administration and inspection services. These improvements will be performed in the Downtown Community Planning Area.
The Roadway Improvements - Rich St - Town St Corridor Enhancement (Phase 2) project consists of the continuation of the improvements started with the two-way conversion of Rich Street and Town Street as envisioned in the East Franklinton Plan. This project installs streetscape on Rich Street and Town Street from Sandusky Street to Lucas Street. The streetscape elements include decorative street lights, street trees, curb ramps and limited sidewalks and curbing. Standard street lights will be replaced with decorative street lights on Grubb Street, Skidmore Street, Gift Street, McDowell Street and Lucas Street between Rich Street and Town Street and on Walnut Street between Gift Street and Lucas Street. The estimated Notice to Proceed date is August 6, 2014. The project was let by the Office of Support Services through Vendor Services and Bid Express.
