Explanation
This ordinance authorizes the City Clerk to enter into a grant agreement with Somali Community Link Inc., a non-profit entity, in support of the organization’s After School Program.

Somali Community Link Inc. is a non-profit organization working to improve the lives of Somali refugees and immigrants in advocacy, education, employment, and housing needs in Central Ohio.

The After School program is at 2775 Cleveland Ave, and is strategically positioned in the heart of Linden, to provide easy access for children in need. The program aims to provide academic support and mentorship to underprivileged students, offering a range of services including homework assistance, access to computers and printers, and personalized tutoring sessions focused on core subjects.

The goals of the program are to:
? Improve academic performance and grades among participating students.
? Enhance confidence and motivation towards learning.
? Strengthen mentorship relationships between tutors, students, and parents.
? Increase access to educational resources and support services.
? Develop essential study skills and academic strategies.
? Establish safe and supportive learning environment for children.

Fiscal Impact: Funding is available within the Neighborhood Initiatives subfund.
